Ready to take a deep dive this winter?

 

                                                2026 Winter Bible Intensive A-90

This January let’s begin a 90 day journey through the historical and spiritual beginning of the church we are today. I’ll call A-90. In this study we will mostly focus on the book of Acts, but then also add a few extra books by the primary characters in Acts: Peter and Paul.

Acts is an epic adventure story that begins in the Holy Land, has miracles galore and then travels on the high seas. This is excellent back ground for our own epic adventure in Sept. as we go on the “Journeys of Paul” trip to Turkey, Greece and Italy-see me for more info.

 In these pages I believe we can hear the very voice of God as we look and listen deeply into what is ultimately His word, TOGETHER :)

What follows will be our scheduled 13 Sunday night dates with assigned chapters to study, starting at 7:00pm in the Smithville Mennonite Church Fireside. To get the most from our time together have these chapters read in advance and bring your insights to share. ALL ARE WELCOME:

1. Jan.  11, Acts 1-2 The early church and Peter

2. Jan. 18, 3-5

3. Jan.25, 6-8 + 9:32-42 [end of chapter]

4. Feb. 1, 10-12

5.  Feb. 8, 1 Peter 1-5

6. Feb. 15, 2 Peter 1-3

7. Feb. 22, Acts 9:1-31 + 12:25 -14 The global church and Paul

8. Mar. 1, 15 - 20

9. Mar. 8, 21 - 23

10. Mar. 15, 24 - 26

 11. Mar. 22, 27-28

12. Mar. 29 Titus and Philemon [Most likely we’ll have a little party before the study :]  

 Your Bible is always the primary tool of our study however I strongly recommend commentaries and other resources to enhance our time together. Feel free to bring them along!

biblehub.com -this is my go to tool for comparing translations and general reading.

enduringword.com -this is my go to verse by verse commentary for answering the question I often run into as I study the Bible: “what does this mean?”      

bibleproject.com -this website is a visual buffet you can feast on-there are tons of videos with excellent insights. I would recommend at least checking out the intros to each of the books we are studying-they are super helpful!
