A strange turn of events as we keep praying for peace....

From the beginning of this war I have asked you to pray for peace. I believe we are at another critical juncture as internal strife runs through Russia. The images we are seeing in the news and on social media in general, are showing us a shocking side of the war, which has now turned inside Russia.

While this could be a good thing for the war in Ukraine, if civil war breaks out in Russia there could be even more devastating effects.  Civil wars are the most horrible of all wars. They always turn friends and families into bitter enemies and literally tear nations apart from the inside out!

We must pray for great wisdom and discernment as leaders of the world watch and consider how this will play out. We must pray especially for Russian leadership both of the state and of the paramilitary group that is on the move. We must always pray for war to end and not just mutate into a more deadly form.

I hope you will join me in prayer:

“Oh God help those in Russia and Ukraine to come to peace. We ask that Russian forces would withdraw from Ukraine. We pray also for the unrest inside of Russia and that there would not be civil war, but rather a bloodless exchange of power, if that is your will. We know this is a brutal time so we pray for kindness, compassion and wisdom to win out.

We ask that your body the church, which is active in these places of war would shine your light of love in the darkness of hate and violence. Give your church courage and protection as they seek to be faithful to you. Bless all those who are working and praying for peace, we pray this all in the name of the Prince of Peace Jesus Christ, Amen!”
