Putting radio on Pause

For the last couple months I have been prayerfully considering the radio ministry we have had for 2 years as of Easter Sunday. This started as a way of reaching primarily our own people with a Sunday message that didn't have internet access. We started out on AM but then listeners encouraged me to explore FM. Our local station had already told me they didn't allow religious programming on the FM signal but I asked again and they said yes! So we have been on 104.5 FM at 7:00 a.m. every Sunday since then! It has been a joy for me to make these radio messages every week but it's very costly. At $250 for our 30 minutes of air time is quite an investment.

I have been so blessed by several people who have generously supported this outreach but to be honest I've been a little disappointed in the response. Almost every Sunday I offer Bibles and someone to pray with and have never had anyone take me up on the offer. I have had numerous people come up and affirm me call in or email and this has been the motivation to continue. Still as of April, we will have been on the air 2 years and I guess I'm still questioning if this is what God wants us to do with his money.

With that discernment, from April 25th to July 25th I will be on sabbatical and I'm feeling it would be good to pause our broadcast for that time. The radio station has already said they are happy to have me start up the first Sunday in August again if we want to. My thought is between now and then, we will see how many people reach out and let us know that the broadcasts have been a blessing and they'd like them to start up again.

I would invite you to pray for this outreach and whether it should continue. If it should, I'm praying God would make it very clear over those months of pause. I will certainly let you know by the end of July if we will restart. I welcome any feedback suggestions or concerns you may have about this and hope you will let me know your prayerful discernment and feedback as well.
