In
case you didn’t know an adult Sunday School class has been meeting for the last
13 weeks as we studied the book “Depression, anxiety and other things we don’t
want to talk about” -it’s been a good study. One of the benefits of such a
group study is the wisdom that can be gained when we share together.
In one of our class times the question was
posed “How do we deal with/heal mental pain?” I felt the responses were helpful
and good to share. Everyone will experience mental pain. Finding healthy ways
to handle it can keep us from serious mental illness, so here is a list of what
some of us in the class do to help ourselves.
The
last point is, see a counselor-but who? The ones listed below are people that
have helped us in the past and who we would go to in the future. I would be
glad to add any other names you have found helpful-just let me know. The goal
is to help us be the healthy and holy people God wants us to be-may God help us
in this pursuit!
