Commands of Christ
"The Greatest Commandment"
Jesus was asked: "Teacher, which is the greatest
commandment in the Law?" Jesus replied: " 'Love the Lord your God
with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.' This is the
first and greatest commandment. And the second is like it: 'Love your neighbor
as yourself.' All the Law and the Prophets hang on these two
commandments," (Matt 22:36-40, Amp).
"The Golden Rule"
"So in everything, do to others what you would have
them do to you, for this sums up the Law and the Prophets," (Matt 7:12
NIV).
Although these Commandments of Jesus are not in numerical
order as are the Ten Commandments in the Old Testament, most Bible Scholars
agree that they are most assuredly the Commandments of Jesus.

"You are the light of the world. A city on a hill
cannot be hidden. " In the same way, let your light shine before men, that

26 Now as they were eating, Jesus took bread, and after
blessing it broke it and gave it to the disciples, and said, “Take,
eat; this is my body.” 27 And he took a cup, and when he had given
thanks he gave it to them, saying, “Drink of it, all of you, 28 for
this is my blood of the[c] covenant,
which is poured out for many for the forgiveness of sins. 29 I tell you I
will not drink again of this fruit of the vine until that day when I drink it
new with you in my Father's kingdom.”
